HECAERA AWAKENED
This project is souley designed to practice vfx and animations in a environment. It is to study the story that could happen in an environment of a boss and what would happen in the environment if the boss would show their emotion.
Here I will show the progress of my graduation project for the Hooge school van kunsten in Utrecht. This project was made with Erik Dusschooten student en codeur.
The project started with brainstorming about the main characters, boss and the backstory of these characters. These steps were needed to build up to the environment art. The style inspiation we used for these concepts were borderlands and Hades. So the style needed to be not too cartoony but with neon colors and highlights.
After this I needed to create the 3D environment and character models. The phases of the environments were tested a lot throughout 5 months and eventually presented at the Nationaal video game museum!
I also wanted to do something new, something I have never done before. I combined effects and particles and animated the boss's movements with them.
At the end of the project I also created a 2D and 3D menu. With animations.
